I watched Oprah recently...
She had a man talking about healthy eating...
He had a book out...I wish I could remember the name of it...
He said...
'When you go to the grocery store, only buy food that your Grandma would recognize as food"
Point well said...
This is one of my Turnips in the vegie patch at River Cottage...
I can't believe that I have actually grown something...
Knowing my past record of killing everything that I try and grow...
I am impressed...
and would say if I can do it anyone can...
I don't think I have ever eaten a turnip , but I love the sound of the word ...
ReplyDeleteMichelle, I think the person who said that was Michael Pollan. I didn't see the Oprah show but I am sure I read that in one of his books, either the Omnivore's Dilemma or In Defense of Food.
ReplyDeleteIt looks very healthy! Your garden is producing for you! Keep going..you must be on the right track.
ReplyDeleteVal in Kansas :-)
Yes Jenny is right - that's one of Michael Pollan's seven rules for eating. Everyone should read his books. Enlightening stuff.
